WHAT IS A CSA?
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE
is a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food straight from the farmer who grows it. Members receive their produce on a prearranged schedule for their membership fee. The farm offers a certain number of "shares" of the farm’s bounty for sale at the beginning of the season. Interested consumers purchase a share, and in return receive a box of seasonal produce each week.
IT IS SO MUCH MORE THAN A BOX OF VEGETABLES
. MAke a Commitment to your health .
. Garner a Relationship with your farmer and your food that is more direct.
. We will grow safe, healthy, and tasty food for you and your family.
In your committed CSA relationship with us, just as in any committed relationship, you take the good with the bad - the amazing flavor with the imperfect visual appearance. And in the end, you will understand that in order to truly support Organic Farming and local seasonal eating, there are some differences from the way you may be used to eating from the supermarkets, or other conventional growers. To help educate new members, we created a HOW TO on being a CSA member.
Join us for our annual OPEN HOUSE & TOUR DAY for all our CSA members. Saturday May 20th from 10am-4pm
Live music, farm tours, tasting table, herb planting demo, picnic tables & more...
WHAT are the benefits?
Seeds, fertilizer, equipment, supplies & staff
So that the right amount of produce is available for the season, and there is not too much or too little
CSA is a unique economic relationship, a partnership between consumers and their farmer. Consumers contract, or sign an understanding, with their farmer before the growing season begins, and agree to share the risks and rewards of growing food.
It's pretty hard to beat local organic vegetables straight from the fields to your hands in less than 48 hours. You will taste the flavor difference from this short transport time
Hundreds of different varieties of vegetables will inspire you to try new things, taste new flavors, and share them with the family
Deepen your connection to the roots of your food. Eat food that is grown in your local area, and learn about the farm and farmer in the process. Visit the farm and take a tour for free.
It's simple - less is more! Spend less and get more in quality and in flavor. Last year members paid $585 and received $850 worth of vegetables (based on retail prices)
*Members picking up at farm/markets get 10% off purchases
We send a weekly newsletter with storage tips, recipe suggestions, a farmers note and photos from the farm. Learn about how your food grows and all about Organic farming.
WHERE CAN I PICKUP MY CSA SHARE?
Please be aware that we are still adding new sites up until the Spring. This means that for all Tuesday & Wednesday sites, your pickup day of the week is subject to change until our truck route is finalized. We try our best to keep them the same year to year. If your site has a "waitlist' at the bottom, please fill it out and we will let you know when we open it.

Some Additional Thoughts
Your participation in the program helps to ensure that our farm remains a viable and vital part of our food source for our community here on the north fork of LI and beyond. You are contributing to a lower fossil fuel imprint by eating locally. You are supporting responsible care of our water supply as well as responsible stewardship of our soil and land.
We ask you therefore, to please pay close attention to the scheduled times. It is the CSA member's responsibility to pick up his/her share on the designated day. We will donate all shares that are not picked up to a local food pantry. If you are away you can request that your share be donated, or you can ask a friend or family member to pick up your share instead. In this way, we share the good food with others who may need it, enjoy it and who can also learn about this wonderful way of eating.
