At Sang Lee Farms we have been championing for human and environmental health for decades. Our initiative is only strengthened by collaborating with Stefanie Sacks, a culinary nutritionist based in Montauk. Beginning this November, Stefanie will teach monthly hands-on cooking classes that support everything that we (and she) believe in! We will kick off our collaboration with the following classes this Fall…

Explore plant-based ingredients with a fresh perspective. Stefanie will help you understand the fundamentals of a truly health supportive diet while using a variety of local ingredients to create simple, nutritious and delicious recipes.

Heart Healthy Holiday

Desserts

Can healthy and dessert exist in the same sentence? With quality ingredients and a balanced approached to sweet, it surely can. Learn how to whip up simple, nutritious and absolutely satisfying desserts that won't leave you feeling guilty, lethargic or bloated!  In this 2-hour workshop, Stefanie will introduce you to new ingredients and methods for making desserts that dazzle. Class begins with a brief discussion followed by fun and creative hands-on cooking instruction as you prepare five different plant-based recipes. Finish the evening with a family style community meal plus educational and inspiring conversation. Suitable for adults and kids 10 & up. Class max 15.

Cleansing Comfort Foods

Kick off the New Year with a different kind of detox. Yes, comfort foods can exude health and wellness and Stefanie will show you how. Work with a variety of fall and winter bounty that will not only provide maximum nutrition to decrease inflammation and jumpstart gut health but will also leave you feeling surprisingly satiated. Finish the evening with a family style community meal plus educational and inspiring conversation. Suitable for adults and kids 10 & up. Class max 15. Recipes may include Quick Cabbage Kimchi, OMG Onion Soup, Cowgirl Chili, Cauliflower Mac & "Cheese", Lentil Stuffed Sweet Potato Skins and more.

Couples Cook

Date night cooking class for Valentine's Day

Join around a nourishment reboot for date night! There are so many obstacles that make cooking, let alone eating healthfully a challenge. Stefanie will lead a culinary exploration for couples that is fun, filled with love and a little local wine if you wish! Learn how to turn a tiresome task into something that can recharge and help you reach your ultimate wellness goals for you and your family. Finish the evening with a community meal among other couples plus educational and inspiring conversation. Menu TBD.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

STEFANIE SACKS , MS, CNS, CDN

Culinary Nutritionist | Author of What The Fork Are You Eating and Founder of REBOOT FOOD™ Speaker & Consultant

 For over two decadesSacks has helped transform the way people eat by using hands on culinary experiences to inspire, educate and offer practical tools for food lifestyle change. She has her Masters of Science in Nutrition from Teachers College, Columbia University, is a Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Dietitian Nutritionist and is a graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts. Stefanie, together with the Program in Nutrition at Teachers College developed Education At the Table™, a culinary program that builds knowledge, skills and confidence to integrate food activities and cooking into nutrition education.

Sacks authored What The Fork Are You Eating? An Action Plan for Your Pantry and Plate(Tarcher | Penguin Random House), is a sought after sought after media guest expert on the topic of healthy choices with frequent appearances on the Dr. Oz Show, PBS, Fox Media, and multiple radio programs. Her extensive online and print contributions include Oprah.com, Bloomberg, The Huffington Post, Alternet, fortune.com, foxnews.com and foxbusiness.com, Family Circle, Prevention, Harper’s Bazaar, Parents, Town & Country and Allure.
