Participants will receive a 4-inch plant to take home. In addition, a detailed handout covering topics discussed in class, as well as planting tips, will also be given to participants at the classes end.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR
Kayla Barthelme is an herbalist and farmer based on the North Fork of Long Island, where she grows medicinal and culinary herbs for her business, Soul Creations Apothecary & Herb Farm. Rooted in regenerative, organic growing practices, her work centers on cultivating high-quality, potent plant medicine and fostering a deeper relationship between people and the plants that support them.
Through her farm, Kayla offers small-batch herbal products, seasonal apothecary shares, and hands-on classes that empower others to grow, harvest, and make their own medicine. Her approach blends practical skill-building with a reverence for the land, encouraging accessible, community-centered herbalism.
Kayla holds a BS in Conservation Biology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She has studied ethnobotany with Robin Wall Kimmerer, earned her Permaculture Design Certificate in Oregon, and completed the Vitalist Herbal Practitioner Program through the School of Evolutionary Herbalism.
