Friday August 21 | 9AM - 11AM
In our Slice of Summer workshop, we invite energetic children to join our youth educators Trish & Cara for a fruit-centered class amongst the farm fields, greenhouses, and orchard!
This is a perfect morning activity for curious children to experience the tastes, smells, sounds, and feel of our certified organic farm in a whole new way. They will explore the practice of growing food while having fun outdoors, interacting with nature, and getting crafty!
This workshop will start with a body and mind check-in that will set the tone for the day, bringing more joy and mindfulness into their experience on the farm and beyond! Your children will participate in a seasonal tasting class centered on peak summer fruits, specifically melons, where kids explore flavor, texture, and the joy of fresh harvests! In this workshop, students will also go on a harvesting adventure in search of supplies for the day’s craft. Students will create printed tote bags with vegetables, flowers, and herbs they harvested! We hope to invigorate your child’s imagination beyond a box of crayons, and show them how they can get creative with other mediums.
*Must at least be entering Kindergarten in the fall and be OK without parents for the 2 hours!
