Join maker Ana Burcroff in learning the how-tos of natural dyes! This workshop will be visually appealing and informative for those who are beginning, or looking to deepen their craft. This workshop can be taken as a standalone class, or can also complement the taught in the previous dye workshop.
We’ll cover how to make a single color dye vat out of plants (different from the previous bundle dye workshop), how to ice dye using prepared ice pigments, and how to mordant. In addition, we will cover the materials and techniques needed to successfully do ice dyeing on your own to achieve the watercolor effect that the technique is known for — all while sipping farm fresh herbal tea!
Participants will learn how to vat and ice dye linen tea towels. A detailed handout covering class topics and techniques needed for dyeing at home will also be given to participants at the classes end.
